“E-invoicing,” “e-reporting,” “approved platform”… The 2026-2027 French e-invoicing reform worries many hair salon and beauty salon owners. The good news: for most of you, the impact is far more limited than it seems. Let’s sort it out, calmly. And for the full reference, with the entire timeline, keep our complete guide to e-invoicing and e-reporting close at hand.
E-invoicing: three things that often get mixed up
- Issuing e-invoices: sending an invoice to a customer. This only concerns invoices between businesses (B2B).
- Receiving e-invoices: receiving invoices from your suppliers (rent, products, service providers).
- E-reporting: sending the tax authorities data on your sales to individual consumers (what comes out of your POS).
E-invoicing 2026-2027: the timeline without the jargon
Your sales to individual consumers (the core of your business)
When you cut, treat or pamper an individual client, you give them a receipt. You are not subject to the obligation to issue an e-invoice for these sales. However, the data from these transactions will have to be sent to the tax authorities (e-reporting), from September 1, 2027 for very small businesses, SMEs, micro-entrepreneurs and self-employed professionals.
Your invoices between businesses (B2B)
If you occasionally invoice another company (a service for a works council, resale to a fellow professional…), the obligation to issue those invoices in electronic format will apply to small businesses and self-employed professionals from September 1, 2027.
Your supplier invoices (the priority to watch)
This is the most immediate point: from September 1, 2026, every business subject to VAT, whatever its size, must be able to receive its supplier invoices in electronic format. Yes, this applies to you too, even if you only invoice individual consumers. We have a dedicated article on it: the obligation to handle before September 1, 2026.
Where does RDV360 fit in?
Our job is POS, calendar and client relationships, not accounting. So we don’t handle receiving your supplier invoices (accounting software takes care of that), and, as a POS, we don’t issue invoices. However, RDV360 will handle e-reporting: sending your POS data (your sales to individual consumers) to the approved platform, through our partner SuperPDP. This obligation only applies from September 1, 2027 for very small businesses and SMEs: RDV360 will take care of it automatically, in time for the deadline and with nothing for you to do.
On the POS side, a final reminder: RDV360 is now NF525 certified (NF525 is the French certification for POS software): your payments are secured and the traceability of your receipts is guaranteed.
This article is for educational purposes and does not replace the advice of your accountant, who remains your best point of contact for your specific situation.
