What exactly is NF 525 certification?
The NF 525 standard governs the reliability of payment data in POS software. It guarantees four requirements that French law imposes on businesses subject to VAT:
- Inalterability: once recorded, a sale can no longer be quietly modified.
- Security: the data is protected.
- Retention: it is kept over time.
- Archiving: it remains accessible in the event of a tax audit.

From self-certification to certification: what changes
Since 2018, RDV360 already complied with the regulations through an individual certificate of compliance issued by the vendor, a perfectly legal route. With NF 525 certification, we are taking an extra step: the POS’s compliance is now verified and certified by an independent body, following a demanding audit. It is the highest level of assurance you can expect from POS software.
What does it mean for you?

A useful clarification on scope: NF 525 covers receipts issued to consumers (your day-to-day business in a hair salon, beauty salon or spa).
